Tots is aimed at children aged 2.5 to 5 years and enables them to learn the basics and how to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities, based on the fundamental areas of balance, co-ordination, agility, movement and racket and ball skills.

Tots play with sponge balls and 17 or 19 inch rackets and the focus is about making it as much fun as possible.

Mini Red

For players aged 8 and under. It is played on small courts with short rackets and soft balls. It’s just like the real game and gives players opportunities to have long rallies and play different types of shots.

A foam or felt ball is used which is 75% slower than a yellow ball. 

A shorter racket of 43cm – 58 cm (17” – 23”) is recommended depending on the size and strength of the player.

Mini Orange

A great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Red, for players aged 8 and 9. 

It is played with shorter rackets, softer balls and courts are larger  than the red stage but still smaller than a full-size courts allowing players to develop a rounded game whilst learning a range of shots, techniques and tactics.

Mini Green

For players to continue their progress from Mini Orange.

It is played on a full size court, with bigger rackets and balls which are a little softer  and 25% slower than yellow balls. It’s the next stage before moving on to full compression yellow balls on a full sized court and helps players develop and improve all aspects of their game.

Yellow

For children aged 10 years and upwards, who play with proper yellow balls on a full size court.

The scoring is the same as adults and we coach both singles and doubles play.

The programme runs all year round with tournaments alongside the coaching programme. We also offer parent and child tournaments, match plays and friendly doubles tournaments.
