Meet the Coaches

About Us

Name: Neil Supperstone
Qualifications: PE, Sports Science & Management Hons degree, Level 4 Tennis Coach, Rugby Level 1, Football Level 1, Multi-skill coach, Tri Golf, Safeguarding & Protecting Children, Equity in your coaching, LTA Primary & Secondary schools, Cardio Tennis and Inclusive Training Tutor. Paediatric Adult, Infant, Child First Aid and DBS Checked. Positive Behaviour Management Training.

Previous Experience: Sports & Tennis Development Officer for Birmingham City Council. Previous Head Coach of Billesley Indoor Tennis Centre & Lecturer in Sports Development & Tennis at Loughborough College.

Interests: Specifically tennis, football and rugby.

Achievements: Have played tennis, football and rugby as a youngster at county level and played rugby at Twickenham. Ran tennis & ommunity sports programmes in Sydney & multi-sports holiday programmes in Western Australia for indigenous and non indigenous participants. Have taken Warks College Tennis Team to the National Finals on two consecutive years. Warks LTA Coach of the Year 2009, Stratford Coach of the Year 2011.

Name: Lianne Candappa
Level 4 Tennis Coach, Equity in your Coaching, DBS checked, First Aid Qualified & Positive Behaviour Management Training.
Coaching for 10 years at various Tennis Clubs, and for the last 8 years at Warwick Tennis Club as Head Coach.
Specifically Tennis, as well as most racket sports. Supports Liverpool Football.
Represented Warwickshire, England and Great Britain with tennis as a junior and currently playing for Warwickshire County Week in July.
Reached the top 16 in Europe under 16 and travelled to many different countries including France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Israel and many more. Reached the top 4 in Great Britain under 16 and Number 1 in England.
Grew up, trained, and travelled with Andy & Jamie Murray as a junior!
Received Coach of the Year in 2008 Warwickshire.

Name : Rob West

Qualifications: Level 3 Tennis Coach, Football Coach (level 1). CSLA coaching award, National Diploma in sport development, fitness and coaching, First Aid and DBS checked. Positive Behaviour Management Training.

Experience: Tennis & sports coach over the past 6 years. Deliver's tennis, multi-skills and tri golf sessions in primary schools during curriculum and after school across Warwickshire.

Interest: My main sport is cricket and i play at a high level (SEMI-PRO) for stratford-upon-avon CC and played for the County when i was younger. I have played tennis for Henley in arden tennis club for the last 8 years and i enjoy playing and watching other sports such as golf, rugby and even snooker.

Name: Elizabeth Holding

Qualifications: Level One Tennis Coach, Level One Hockey Coach and umpire,
First Aid, Safeguarding & Protecting Children, CRB Checked (plus loads of
Human Resources, health and safety and employment law qualifications which
are too boring to mention)

Experience: I have played, umpired and coached for many years in hockey and
recently completed my level one in tennis. I play both sports at Warwick
Sports Club, and I have played hockey for Gloucestershire and Berkshire.

Interests: In between transporting my two sons to all kinds of sporting and
social events I try and find time to work, play for Warwick Ladies Hockey
team, do lots of gardening and growing vegetables, cooking and looking after
our cats, fish and chickens.

Name:  Scott Smith
Qualifications: Level 2/3 Tennis Coach, First Aid, Safeguarding & DBS checked. 11 GCSE’s graded A-C along with A-Levels in PE, Geography and Business.

Experience: Coaching for the last 5 years at Hallow and Worcester Tennis Clubs. Currently coaching at Warwick Tennis Club. I have assisted in the running of holiday camps working with a wide variety of children of different ages and abilities. Have experience coaching in schools and disability tennis.  

Interests: Playing tennis is my main interest, playing in the Hereford and Worcestershire Men’s doubles league for the last 5 years. I enjoy most sports like football, golf, cricket, e.t.c I also love supporting my younger sister with her netball along with support Manchester United football club.
Achievements: Currently Hallow Men’s doubles champion. Along with lots of different doubles and singles titles around the U.K to my name. Have competed in tournaments abroad as well in Countries including France, Portugal and Cyprus. Have captained winning men’s and junior’s teams in Aegon and league tennis.
Alex Barrow
Qualifications: Level 2 Tennis Coach, Safeguard and Protecting In Tennis, First Aid Qualified and DBS Checked. NPLQ Life Guard trained. Clip n' Climb Instructor.
When I was younger I used to play foot ball competitively until I was  9 and then moving from Czech Republic to England I wanted to start a new sport and I’ve been at Henley ever since then. I work in our cool sportz camps running activities of all types of sport and working in Tennis with beginners to intermediate players from the children to adults. For 2 years I worked as a Party Leader at Everyone Active doing bouncy castle, football and pool parties while also being a Clip n’ Climb instructor which was a lot of fun.
Name: Adam Darby
Qualifications; Level 2 tennis coach, Level 2 fitness instructor, BSc Hons degree in Sports Coaching and Development. First aid and DBS certified
Tennis coach for 5 years. Have previously coached at Redditch HDA, Ombersley and Doverdale and Oxstalls Sports Park. I have coached in schools across Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. After 3 years of university, I have had the ability to coach a wide variety of sports and have consequently learnt the correct ways to acquire certain skills
My main sport is Tennis, however I have played football all my life whilst also competing in golf and basketball. I will happily watch any sport with a ball in it.
